Justus Parker gets scholarship news delivered by Patriot Rob Gronkowski

Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury enlisted the help of Red Raiders great Danny Amendola to break some special news to one of his players.

Texas Tech defensive back Justus Parker (31) celebrates teammate Douglas Coleman III's interception of Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger's pass during the second half of an NCAA college football game, Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, in Austin, Texas. After taking a redshirt last season, he earned a starting role for the Red Raiders this year and is sixth on the team with 42 tackles. He was sitting with the team after the Patriots beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Heinz Field.

In the video, Amendola compliments the play of Parker.

Gronkowski then appears on screen to say, "Justus, wassup man?!"

Amendola shifted his camera to Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who had a surprise gift for Parker. "Hard work pays off".

"Unbelievable moment getting told by @RobGronkowski and @DannyAmendola that I am officially on Scholarship! Thankful and Blessed to attend Texas Tech University".

Parker began his career at Texas Lutheran before transferring to Texas Tech and walking on.
