Jonny Evans: West Brom boss Alan Pardew 'fears' losing captain in January

Albion Outlook

Alan Pardew admitted that he fears West Bromwich Albion will lose captain Jonny Evans in January, with Manchester City considering returning for the Northern Ireland worldwide.

Evans will now face a hard choice going into the second half of the Premier League season, with the option of becoming a squad player at runaway leaders Manchester City - or remaining with first team football elsewhere.

"I'm never confident when you've got great players because other clubs want great players so your best players are always vulnerable", he said. Of course not. Do I fear losing him?

Evans has been linked with Everton, Arsenal and Manchester City in recent times in the Mirror, and all of those clubs look far more appealing than West Ham.

"I understand and we deal with it, Jonny's dealt with it in his way. Of course I do". "He was terrific for me, I can only go on his performance, I thought he was outstanding against Crystal Palace".

A goalless draw at home to Palace, Pardew's former club, last weekend left West Brom without a win in 13 Premier League games and just one place above the relegation zone.

Alan Pardew's men travel to Swansea City on Saturday afternoon and are priced at 2/1 for the win.

The Baggies have struggled for goals this season, but when he was asked if he wanted a striker in the window, Pardew said there was enough talent in the squad. The defender could move to Manchester City and potentially win another Premier League title or make a move that could see him play in the Championship next season.
