Jeremy Corbyn says he will probably be PM within the next year

The wide-ranging interview also touched on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming wedding. Mr Corbyn said he believed the cost'should be borne by the family themselves

In an interview with Grazia, the Labour Party leader predicted that general elections would take place in the next 12 months which he "will probably win".

Mr Corbyn gave the interview to Grazia magazine and said he was on the verge of entering Number 10.

Oh dear. Given that Jeremy Corbyn is reported to have told Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis this summer that he would be in Downing Street by Christmas, time is running out for the Labour leader.

He added: "We'd probably win it; with a majority. We're working very hard on that". "I'm horrified and appalled by it all".

Corbyn, who said he voted against European Union membership in a 1975 referendum but voted for membership in 2016, said he opposed former Labor Prime Minister Tony Blair's proposal for another referendum on membership. "I think sexism is a real challenge in society that needs to be dealt with", he said.

Two Labour MPs - Kelvin Hopkins and Ivan Lewis - are now under investigation for sexual allegations. "But we have a process, including a confidential hotline and an independent person to investigate".

Asked if he thought people had cast their votes on the basis of false promises, he said: "People still voted as they did".

"'We're dealing with some cases and they are of course disturbing when you get them".

But he ruled out campaigning for a second referendum, saying: "I think we should continue putting pressure on the government to allow a transition period to develop, because at the moment we're in danger of getting into a complete mess in March 2019 (the date Britain leaves the EU)".

As party leader, Corbyn says he is "utterly determined" to make all Labour party events 'a safe place for women to go, ' He also outlines the measures already in place to support those affected by such misconduct and to promote equality in the work place of the Labour Party.

On the forthcoming royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the famous republican revealed he had not been invited but described the princess-in-waiting as "clearly a very decent person".
