Indian bowlers help restrict Sri Lanka at 135/7

Disciplined India restrict Sri Lanka to 135-7 in third T20

The win ensured that India end the year on a high before embarking on their high-profile tour of South Africa that starts with the first Test on January 5 in Cape Town.

Chasing a victory target of 136, India lost Rahul early.

Supporting them will be former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik who have the caliber to demolish the Sri Lanka which has failed to look up to the mark.

In a hurry to collect runs, they ended up playing poor lofted shots on good balls, resulting in tame dismissals. Sundar finished his quota of four overs with an impressive figures of 1 for 22 and conceded just three boundaries.

Needing three from the last over, Dhoni (16 not out) got a couple from first ball and flicked the next one from Thisara Perera to mid-wicket boundary to finish the game.

Manish Pandey top-scored with 32 as India beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in the third Twenty20 global to complete a 3-0 whitewash in Mumbai on Sunday. He also bowled 11 dot balls.

The 18-year-old Sundar maintained a tight line and length, and caught risky Kusal Perera (4) off his own bowling after Unadkat got rid of Niroshan Dickwella (1). Sri Lanka brought in Dasun Shanaka to replace regular skipper Angelo Mathews, who pulled his hamstring in the last game and has also replaced Chaturanga de Silva with Danushka Gunathilaka. Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 21.

Gunaratne, though, kept calm and played sensibly getting some runs patiently even as Danushka Gunathilaka (3) became a victim of chinaman Kuldeep Yadav (1/26).

Fun fact: The last time Sri Lanka featured in a game at the Wankhede, India went on to lift the World Cup for the second time back in 2011.
