Gremio beat Lanus 3-1 on aggregate to clinch the third Copa Libertadores title in their history and Arthur once again played a prominent role for his club.
Luan doubled their lead four minutes before half time when he drifted past three defenders on the edge of the box and lifted a delightful chip over the helpless keeper.
Both of the Brazilian side's goals came early, with Fernandinho and Luan striking before the half-time break before Jose Sand eventually pulled one back for the Argentinian hosts with a 72nd-minute penalty.
"We played a great game and we deserved to win the final, now we are going to celebrate it with our fans, because it is a historic title for all of us and for the club".

Gremio's culture is more of Uruguayan will power than Brazilian flair, but this year it has been a goal machine. Lanus was playing its first final of the Copa Libertadores.
The team has 116 goals this year and hopes to extend that run into the FIFA Club World Cup in December in Abu Dhabi. Gremio were crowned South American champions. Getting the ball on the left, the Brazil worldwide cut in from the wing, dribbled past a trio of defenders and calmly chipped a scrambling Andrada from inside the box.
The Brazilian was later chosen the best player in the tournament.
Winter parking bans in effect
Snow events in Cambridge follow the same rules as those in Kitchener, although the two cities declare such events separately. During parking bans, all vehicles must be removed from public ways or run the risk of ticketing and towing.
