Everton keen on acquiring the services of towering Frenchman

Sevilla player Steven N'Zonzi in action during the UEFA Champions League group E match between Liverpool FC and Sevilla FC at Anfield

The two-cap France global has gone from strength-to-strength since leaving the Premier League - having also played for Stoke between 2012 and 2015.

Berizzo's illness was revealed in the wake of Sevilla's stunning comeback in a 3-3 UEFA Champions League draw against Liverpool last month.

The report adds that Sevilla would be prepared to sell N'Zonzi for a figure in the region of £20m.

The situation appears to not be good and N'Zonzi has been forced to train alone and was also left out of the club's squads that played against Villarreal and Cartagena.

N'Zonzi was a target of Juventus previous year but ended up signing an extension on his current deal with Sevilla which is valid until 2020.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is reportedly considering a January move for Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi.

The Toffees underwent a major overhaul in the summer transfer window, with Ronald Koeman splurging close to £150million on new players.
