Dana White: Georges St-Pierre Sidelined with Colitis

It appears plans for Georges St-Pierre's next fight are on hold.

The reason being that following the TUF 26 Finale last night in Las Vegas, Dana White confirmed to the media that the Canadian star has colitis.

Colitis refers to inflammation of the colon and can cause abdominal pain, cramps and diarrhea.

News of St-Pierre's condition comes just days after White said he would be "super pissed" if St-Pierre refused to defend the middleweight title.

UFC middleweight champion, George St-Pierre receives homage prior to the National Hockey League game of the Montreal Canadiens and the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Bell Centre on November 14, 2017 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. St-Pierre faced middleweight champion Michael Bisping, defeating the titleholder via third-round submission to extend his winning streak to 13 dating back to 2007.

Despite Whittaker's calm reaction, should the UFC truly let "Rush" hold up a division he may have never meant to defend the title in? Whether Whittaker would be defending his interim championship or the undisputed championship (assuming St-Pierre is stripped of his title given the circumstances) remains to be seen in that hypothetical scenario.

Now, despite his status as the greatest welterweight of all-time, GSP's finds himself 15lbs above with the middleweight strap tied firmly around his waist and though many have called for him to defend his title against the interim-champion Robert Whittaker, there have been considerable rumours that have tied Georges to a step down to his old division and a match-up with its champion Tyron Woodley, among other prospects outside of the 185lb weight-class.
