Sushil, who was out of action since the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow before making a comeback, will now be aiming for a hat-trick at this year's games as he had won Gold Medals at Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014 respectively.

An FIR has been lodged against double-Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar and his supporters due to their involvement in the fight with fellow wrestler Parveen Rana at the trials conducted for selection of India's wrestling representatives for 2018 Commonwealth Games on Friday.

Kumar had won all his bouts before even defeating Rana in the semifinal clash.

The trials for the CWG, to be held in April, was organised by the WFI and attended by a large number of fans and top officials from the federation. I do not support anyone who gets violence in between sportsmanship. During the bout, Sushil complained to the referee that Rana had bit his arm, slapped him across the face and tried to trip him during the bout. An FIR under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code was registered after Sushil's supporters for the clashes. "The incident didn't happen in front of us, it happened outside, in the warm-up area. There was mutual respect after the fight ended", he added. Now, Sushil made headlines for the wrong reason after an alleged supporters' group of his came to blow with the supporters group of fellow wrestler Praveena Rana.

The supporters of both the wrestlers attacked each other mercilessly.

As soon as they spotted Naveen and his group of friends, they started pushing, abusing and beating them up, with some even using plastic chairs as a tool of weapon.

He also claimed that Sushil Kumar supporters have been giving him death threats and dared him to participate in the upcoming Pro Wrestling League.

Earlier this month, Parveen had competed against Sushil at the Senior Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in Johannesburg, but lost 4-5 in a close contest. Trials for women's freestyle wrestlers will happen at the SAI regional centre in Lucknow on Saturday.
