Bosz set to be sacked as Dortmund crash again

Peter Bosz

Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Werder Bremen left Dortmund without a win in eight games and seventh in the table, three points adrift of a Champions League place.

Although Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised to become the record African goalscorer in Bundesliga history, it was the latest in a long line of miserable Dortmund performances under coach Peter Bosz.

It appears they did not, and BVB made quick work in announcing his successor, with Stoger to take the reins until the end of this season.

Bosz arrived at Signal Iduna Park having led Ajax to the Europa League final and established Dortmund as the early season pacesetters with six victories and a draw from their opening seven top-flight games.

Leading up to the game, Bosz seemed unsettled as he was forced to answer questions regarding how a fire alarm going off at the team hotel would affect his side and whether rumours that his players had influenced his starting line-up decisions were true.

Sporting director Hans-Joachim Watzke said: "Last night in a conversation with Peter Bosz we decided that we would release him with immediate effect, it was very emotional, but also stylish".

After 56 minutes of play, Aubameyang got the Black and Yellows' leveller - his fifth strike in his last four games - scrambling home a Shinji Kagawa header.

"I would not say no, I always think about it first, because that's how I am, I would not say something like that in an emotion, but I probably will not do it".

"I don't understand how we can produce a performance like that - that was really s***".
