The Dallas District Attorney released a statement regarding Warner's termination, calling her behavior "contrary to this office's core principle of integrity, and it will not be tolerated".
Platt told me earlier it wasn't his intention for her to be fired, but he did feel like she should at least apologize.
"Who are they going to believe?"
"Under the law, it's recklessly keeping me from where I was going, and you have done that", she says.
'Then we'll wait for the cops, Jesus Christ, you're a [expletive] idiot in a stupid [expletive] hat, ' the Dallas prosecutor continues. Platt did not, however, intend for Warner to lose her job. The driver repeats that he asked her politely to get out of his vehicle.
Platt alleged that Warner seemed to get angrier on the ride and things escalated after he got lost when she told him to follow a route that was different from the Global Positioning System directions. "I want the cops to come so that they can fuck you up, that's what I want". "You're kinda right.' So I took out my phone and I recorded it".
"It's not kidnapping. Ma'am you are free to leave", Platt responds.
Platt asked the woman to leave the auto several times, but she continued to insult Platt and insist he drive her home. "I said, 'ma'am you need to exit my vehicle.' She said 'you're supposed to take me home.' I said 'I understand that but you just crossed the line, '" Platt said.
"No, it is because there was an Uber that had a destination and you have not taken me to that destination. I'm a district attorney".
'We'll wait for the cops then if that's what you think is appropriate, ' she continued. 'You don't just end a ride ... Warner had accused Platt of refusing to take her home, beacuse he was allegedly not following the directions given by his navigational device.
Explained the victimized Uber driver, 'I didn't want to get her in trouble, ' before eventually demanding Warner to get out. "I'm an assistant district attorney so shut the fuck up".
Warner, a six-year veteran prosecutor working in the district attorney's crime against children unit, continued berating him before slapping him on the shoulder, according to Platt.
"After careful consideration and a thorough investigation, I have made a decision to terminate Ms. Warner". But the law enforcement official simply asked him if he "was good" and when Platt reluctantly confirmed that he was, Warner left with the officer in his auto. "As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom". When the cops arrived, Platt said he declined to press charges. I will not waiver on my expectation of the highest integrity for myself or my staff. Former judge Elizabeth Frizell and lawyer Pete Schulte also spoke to the media Tuesday, in Warner's defense. Warner's Klout page says she goes by the nickname "J Mag".
But she continued to berate the driver. It should also be noted that Frizell is campaigning to replace Johnson as the next Dallas County District Attorney. "I forgive her." But Warner's employer was not so forgiving.
Jody Warner is seen in a photo obtained by CBS Dallas station KTVT. "I'm sure she's a good person when she's sober".
