What the Cluck? Fried Chicken Restaurant Crook Foiled by Fan Unit

Burglar gets stuck in window for five hours in botched break-in

The rest of the man's body could not be seen.

He was finally freed at 9 am from the vent at DFC Chicken, on Rookery Road, in Handsworth.

A suspected burglar was forced to accept some additional help after getting stuck in an extractor for seven hours while seemingly attempting to break into a takeaway.

On Thursday West Midlands Police arrested a suspect in Birmingham, UK, in a rather odd position.

The man was eventually released by the fire brigade about an hour later.

Manager Kamran Hussain, 30, said he was called to the shop after an elderly resident heard the man shouting: 'Please help me, I'm stuck'.

He was taken to hospital for a check-up.

"The extractor unit had been removed and the suspect had climbed into the extractor outlet at around 2am. He was completely stuck and couldn't move". "But because the gentleman couldn't touch him, he called the police instead".

It was a passer-by who first spotted the crook's legs protruding from the shaft, and West Midlands Police arrived on the scene at 8.20am.

"They captioned the image: "#dontgetstuck if you're trying to break in.

'He didn't really say much, they just got him down, arrested him and marched him away after taking his details.

The tweet prompted a wave of amusement on social media. Must feel a right turkey!'
