It's quite likely this will also apply to music videos with claimed ownership by artists and labels long before most modern YouTube content rules were in place. The streaming giant is now rolling out a "Tickets" widget.
This added integration will include information about the nearest show as well as upcoming tour dates.
Next to all the listings is a "tickets" button that, when clicked, will redirect users to Ticketmaster's website to make their purchase.
Artists now listing upcoming tour dates with links to Ticketmaster's website include Katy Perry for her Witness tour, as well as Lady Gaga, Halsey, The Chainsmokers and The Killers.
However, Ticketmaster's deal is not exclusive to YouTube - the company a year ago integrated with Spotify for ticket sales as well.
YouTube today announced a partnership with Ticketmaster that will see the Google-owned video network connecting fans with concert tickets and tour information directly on artists' YouTube video pages. The listings appear in a new section underneath the video description on the official videos on their channels, on both desktop and mobile apps.
It's worth stressing here that this doesn't mean tickets will be available next to any music-related video on YouTube - those grainy fan-shot clips won't be used to sell tickets to the next gig on a tour. We'd expect to see it roll out there soon, but there's no official word from Google. It's not yet clear whether Google's cut of the ticket price will be part of the whole, or part of Ticketmaster's portion of the whole. There's no mention of expanding to other ticketing companies and not all artists use Ticketmaster.
Those outside the USA won't see the live show information, though they may still see a link to live shows if the artists have included one in their video notes.
