Rose McGowan arrested, released for felony drug charge

Rose Mc Gowan arrested

Rose McGowan was arrested after turning herself in to police on Tuesday, November 14, for felony possession of a controlled substance.

She was subsequently released on $5,000 unsecured bond, police officials said.

Police launched an investigation after they allegedly found traces of narcotics in personal belongings left behind on a United flight arriving at the Washington Dulles International Airport on January 20, the AP reported.

According to court documents obtained by TheBlast.com, police discovered “two small plastic bags containing a white powder substance” inside the purse, with the powder testing positive for cocaine. It is unclear which substance, but the charge is specific to possession of a schedule I or II narcotic, authorities told THR.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department, Rob Yingling, told Deadline investigators they believe the personal belongings were McGowan's.

The Hollywood Reporter said McGowan confirmed she was referring to disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein.

The Charmed star was allegedly raped by Weinstein at the Sundance Film Festival in 1997, and the Times reported that she received a $100,000 settlement in the wake of the incident.

McGowan seemingly tweeted about the warrant last month, writing, "Are they trying to silence me?"

"What a load of HORSES-T".
