Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez suspended from bowling in internationals

Pakistan off-spinner Muhamamd Hafeez has again been suspended by the International Cricket Council for illegal bowling action after undergoing assessment of his action of late.

His action came under the scanner during the third One-Day International against Sri Lanka, which was played on 18 October in Abu Dhabi.

After his action was independently assessed at Loughborough University in England, Hafeez has now been suspended from bowling once again.

The spinner has taken 247 wickets in 326 worldwide games for Pakistan.

As stated in a media release by the ICC, "In accordance with Article 11.1 of the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations, Hafeez's global suspension will also be recognised and enforced by all National Cricket Federations for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction". In November 2014, he was reported during a Test series against New Zealand and suspended from bowling in December.

This is the third time in three years that Hafeez has been suspended from bowling in global matches. He was reported in November 2014 for the first time. In April 2015, his bowling action was passed as legal by the governing body.

Hafeez was reported for suspect action in last month's third one-day global against Sri Lanka.

In accordance with Article 11.1 of the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations, Hafeez's worldwide suspension will also be recognised and enforced by all National Cricket Federations for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction.
