Overwatch Getting 4K Support for Xbox One X

Overwatch Xbox One X 4K Enhancements Confirmed By Blizzard

Blizzard talked briefly to WindowsCentral of their plans to implement 4K resolution for the Xbox One X (Amazon, $499.00) version of Overwatch while taking the time to praise the console's powerful hardware. Other developers have bundled their Xbox One X updates with additional fixes and tweaks to their games, and if Blizzard follows suit, perhaps Overwatch's Xbox One X enhancements will come with the addition of new support hero Moira or the Blizzard World map in 2018.

Overwatch is one of the most popular video games out in the market today.

"Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens", the statement from Blizzard read. "It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen". We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.

Judging from Blizzard's response, 4K enhancements seem like a guarantee, but when it'll be implemented and other specifics on the enhancements remain to be seen. A large number of Xbox One games that have been looking forward to the console will likely be doing similar things, upgrading their games to be both playable on the Xbox One X, and also to be able to look good while doing so.

You might recall that there'sa PlayStation 4 Pro update for Overwatch but maybe not the particulars.

The Xbox One X is out in the wild and to those of you with data caps, godspeed.

Titles like Assassin's Creed Origins, Call of Duty: WW2, and Rise of the Tomb Raider are already confirmed to offer a free Xbox One X patch to players.
