Oklahoma City Thunder's early season struggles continue with road loss

By now, everyone has heard about the postgame team meeting that the Thunder held following their 102-94 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday night. "You have to be up front with everybody", Anthony told Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript after the game on Thursday.

That's because the Thunder held a roughly 30-to 35-minute meeting discussing what has ailed them of late. But the Oklahoma City Thunder, struggling at 4-7 despite the offseason additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, aren't most teams. Turn the ball over a little less, be more productive on offense (and hit those free throws), and they should be able to figure it out from there.

Instead of giving Westbrook space to work with the ball and forcing teams to put a small player on Anthony, they're making it easy for teams to defend a group that should be unguardable a lot of the time. Next was a disappointing defeat at the hands of the three-win Sacramento Kings.

The Thunder let go of an 18-point lead to the Boston Celtics this past Friday. That's the beauty of being in this league and having so many games. They lead the National Basketball Association in deflections; they are fourth in points off of turnovers and they force the most turnovers. "Everybody said their piece". Coach (Billy Donovan) said his piece. "We know we are going to get an unbelievably motivated and aggressive team coming out". "They have one chance with this team because they can not bring back this team together next year". The 22-year-old Jokic averaged 19.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in three games against Oklahoma City last season.

"We're going to take advantage of that mismatch". "But it's on us to not spectate". It's something that step-by-step, day-by-day, at this point game-by-game we have to slowly get on the same page. "We are much more focused on not turning the ball over against a great defense than the Russell-and-Nikola dynamic". After limiting opponents to 91.8 points per game and 40.3 percent shooting in their 4-0 start, Los Angeles have yielded 111.8 per game on 47.3 percent shooting in the last six games. We're talking things through. "We're trying to figure it out, trying to see what's going on, what's happening". But without Beverley trying to slow down Westbrook, the Thunder, as 6.5-point favorites, feel like the better pick as they try to extend the home team's trend of covering in this matchup to seven of the last nine.
