Minecraft 'Better Together' Update for Switch Delayed to 2018

Minecraft Super Duper Graphics Delayed New Mob Type Revealed

The update was originally scheduled for the fall of 2017, but it is pretty obvious that is no longer happening and Microsoft has since confirmed that the graphics upgrade would be delayed. "We also want to update you on the Super Duper Graphics pack".

Considering the many treats and surprises that the SuperDuper Graphics pack, cross-platform Switch, and The Update Aquatic are expected to give to the players, many are expecting it to be released in the first quarter of 2018.

During the MineCon Earth 2017 livestream on Saturday, the game's development team revealed a new slew of features coming to the iconic game, including massively expanded oceans complete with dolphins. It will also add corals, dolphins, various types of fishes and other underwater creatures. The update is called, appropriately enough, "The Update Aquatic", and it's one of a few changes to the game teased by video game developer Mojang on Saturday.

Currently, the waters of the well-loved game title give nearly no reason to dive in other than for the sake building an underwater base. The trident can be used in melee or even thrown at enemies.

In Mojang's update, players will be able to catch different kinds of fish depending on the temperature of the water they're in, and they'll be able to create and populate aquariums for their collections.

Starting out slow with some bubble columns that'll add some physics to items around them, the video goes on to show some of the new animal life that'll be added in the update.

Once the Nintendo Switch cross platform multiplayer update gets released, "Minecraft" players using PC, Xbox One, mobile, and Switch will be able to play the game together.

In order to protect themselves in the new environment, players will also be getting a new water-themed weapon, the trident. "The Loyalty enchantment will make it come back to you even after you've thrown it, while enchantments like Impaler and Slipstream Dash will. well, we'll let you use your imagination!"
