"I quit because I did not want to become a servant in the party that I founded", Mr. Roy said. He has also threatened Roy of initiating criminal and civil action against him if he fails to tender apology in a press conference. He alleged that Biswa Bangla, a state government entity is "owned" by Abhishek. "Even the TMC mouthpiece Jago Bangla is owned by Mamata's nephew", Roy said on Friday.

Roy's legal team seemed unperturbed by the notice.

Kolkata: Undeterred by a strong rebuttal by the Mamata Banerjee government to BJP leader Mukul Roy's Biswa Bangla allegations, Roy on Sunday shot off a letter to two senior bureaucrats - Bengal home secretary Atri Bhattacharya and MSME and textiles secretary Rajiva Sinha - alleging they had made factually incorrect statements that violate their IAS service rules.

The TMC's Youth Wing organised a protest rally in the city on Monday to counter Roy's allegations.

The State Government had immediately refuted the allegations regarding the Biswa Bangla stating that the company, brand and the logo "Biswa Bangla" is exclusively owned by the Government of West Bengal.

TMC MLA Arjun Singh challenged Roy to contest in the municipal election reacting to Roy's earlier statement that he has his men in all 77,000 booths in the state.

Kamal said he was astounded by the energy and enthusiasm of "your chief minister who makes this effort year after year". "If anyone claims that the Biswa Bangla Marketing Corporation is a private company, it is totally false". But Sinha also clarified that the Biswa Bangla logo has been created by Banerjee.

With regard to multiple applications for trademark registration of the Biswa Bangla logo, the official said an applicant - CJ Associates, on behalf of Abhishek Banerjee - had withdrawn its application and the withdrawal was accepted by the Registrar of Trade Marks.
