This is another setback for Jenkins considering he was looking to salvage the season and build on his impressive 2016 campaign in his second year with the Giants. According to ESPN'sAdam Schefter, he is to undergo ankle surgery on Wednesday that will end his season.
New York, which has been ravaged by injuries all season long, is just 2-9 and will take on the Oakland Raiders this Sunday.
Jenkins has dealt with an ankle injury for two months now.
Jenkins, who was suspended for one week after failing to return to the team following their bye, has appeared in nine games this season, recording 31 tackles (27 solo), nine passes defensed, three interceptions and two touchdowns. For all intents and purposes, the Giants' season is over. Jenkins strongly denied that he wasn't giving 100 percent.
Prior to his time with the Giants, Jenkins spent the first four years of his career with the St. Louis Rams (now Los Angeles).
