According to a tip revealed by accessory maker RAVpower, the upcoming official release iOS 11.2 will be the software update that will unlock faster wireless charging for the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
However, even with the iOS 11.2, the new iPhone will not be supporting the maximum charging speeds available on the current Qi 1.2 standard which is 15 W. Some of these allow for up to 15W of wireless charging power. On a non-7.5W charger, the same period of time only saw the phone charge from 46-percent to 60-percent. However, tech-savvy users who jailbreak their phones discover a completely new world and claim that as long as you stay away from shady sources, there's no need to worry about having your device compromised.
