When flying earlier today I noticed something odd with the Pixel 2 XL camera.
According to some of the reports by Pixel 2 XL users, the phone now has a new bug.
The latest problem to crop is concerns the camera and how it reacts to LED lighting.
The original Google Pixel phone also had issues with its camera, due to the cover glass generating a "halo" effect that tended to make its way to nearly every video and photo taken with the phone. Apparently, LED lights do not emit stable light, instead, they let off a flickering light that isn't detectable by the human eye.
The same YouTuber also made a video comparing the Pixel 2 with the original Pixel and it's clear the 1st generation Pixel isn't susceptible to the problem. Google has responded to the complains and announce that a software fix for the issue will be released soon but before that happens, fans will have to make do with the buggy display for the time being.
There's a dedicated discussion thread regarding this over at the official Pixel forum, and a quick look there reveals the problem has been escalated to the concerned team, presumably the Pixel 2 team at Google.
