'Clean and sober' Gordon wants to be NFL's best receiver

On Wednesday, the newly reinstated Cleveland Browns wideout said now that he's on an National Football League roster once again, he's ready to be the top receiver to ever play the game. He isn't eligible to practice right now and won't be eligible to play until December, but the process has begun to try and get him back on the field.

"(I'm) in a good spot. My life is just in a conducive space of where I need to be for me psychologically, physically. Let y'all know where I'm at. It's all come together.

Through 35 career games, Gordon has tallied 161 catches, 2,754 yards and 14 touchdowns on 306 targets. I feel as though if I can stick to that plan, the rest will take care itself.

Gordon, though, couldn't escape the allure of alcohol and drugs that first seduced him in his early teens and a cycle of suspensions, rehab stays and appeals for forgiveness followed. Most in the Browns organization would settle for a drama-free final few months of the season from a wideout who hasn't sniffed regular-season action in almost three years because of a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Per Schefter, Gordon is expected to be in team meetings on Wednesday. "I'm looking forward to that". He will be eligible to play on December 3 when the Browns visit the Los Angeles Chargers.

Gordon returned to the Browns facility Tuesday where he met with both head coach Hue Jackson as well as executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown. "The ceiling is very high and there's a lot of potential there".
