Spiritual leader and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence in Lucknow on Wednesday.
In 2010, the Allahabad High Court had accepted the disputed site in Ayodhya as the birthplace of Lord Ram. A report from Ayodhya quoting Sri Sri's representative Swami Bhavya Tej said that the spiritual guru would reach Ayodhya at 11 am on November 16 and meet Shri Ramjanambhoomi Nyas chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das at Maniram Chhavni. Mr. Ravi Shankar is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Thursday to meet the stakeholders in the legal dispute of the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case. Talks had begun earlier also and one party always excluded itself from it, so the problem is not that there should be talks, but that both parties should agree to it. "It can give good results but intentions should be good", he said.
Earlier, Owaisi had said, "All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has clearly stated that they would not accept any such offer. We welcome any settlement and will honour the decision of the court", he said.
Last month, Ravi Shankar had expressed his willingness to mediate in the Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir dispute.
The apex court will commence the final hearing of the long-standing matter from December 5, a day before the 25th anniversary of the demolition of the medieval-era structure.
