Basketball | NBA: Davis powers Pelicans past Pacers 117-112

The duo combined to score 27 of the Pelicans' 35 points in the third quarter as New Orleans went into the final period holding a 96-94 advantage.

Both 7-footers have been impressive in wreaking havoc on this trip. The twin towers have also made the most of their trips to the foul line, combining to sink 38 of 46 free throws in the three wins.

Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in only 28.7 minutes of action as the Pacers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans. He was extremely creative mixing up his shots in the second half of the game and was a nightmare for the Pacers defense. The Pacers blew a 19-point lead, getting outscored 36-17 in the fourth quarter. E'Twaun Moore may need to lay off a half-step defensively but also keep in mind to prevent DeRozan from working his mid-range game on his favored right side.

Anthony Davis scored a game-high 37 points while shooting 14-of-18 from the floor and Demarcus Cousins added 32 as the Pelicans stormed back in the second half for a 117-112 win over the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. After the break, the Blue and Gold cooled down, shooting just 30 percent while the Pelicans caught up and eventually pulled away. It'll be interesting to see how Davis and Cousins matchup against Serge Ibaka and Jonas Valanciunas. But Davis and Cousins took over in the third quarter and quickly erased the team's 14-point halftime deficit. Davis logged over 40 minutes in each of the last four games and six of 10 while Cousins hit the mark three times already. DeMarcus Cousins accounted for 25 points and 11 rebounds. Cousins has not, averaging 22.3 points and 10.8 rebounds while recording nine double-doubles in 13 games, including the last three. He was 14 of 18 from the field. You have to be impressed with the Pelicans and their two All-Stars for what they mustered up on every possession in the last few minutes of the game.

By the numbers: The Pelicans had been held to less than 100 points in four consecutive games before Tuesday night's scoring outburst. It'll be fascinating to see if this carries over to the Pelicans' next game against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.
