Roy Price Put on Leave of Absence at Amazon Studios

The Amazon Studios president's departure comes in the face of renewed sexual harassment allegations and multiple signs that Amazon and others in the industry had withdrawn their support from the embattled executive. Hackett told the Hollywood Reporter she was emboldened to come forward after seeing so many women publicly accuse Weinstein.

"Roy Price is on leave of absence effective immediately", an Amazon spokesperson told Variety in a statement.

Amazon said Thursday that Amazon Studios chief Roy Price was on a leave of absence and the company was reviewing its projects with The Weinstein Company.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Price had been suspended.

A representative for attorney Lisa Bloom, who announced last week would no longer represent Weinstein this week, told the publication she would no longer represent Price.

Following her complaint, Hackett continued to work on her two Amazon shows - both of which are based on the works of her father, Philip K. Dick - including the upcoming Electric Dreams. In an email, he said Hackett doesn't intend to pursue legal action against Amazon or Price.

Casey Affleck - who has also been dogged by allegations of sexual harassment that he has denied - won a best actor Oscar this year for his role in the Amazon original movie "Manchester by the Sea".

As far as reviewing their relationship with The Weinstein Co., Amazon was slated to release at least two major dramas, but as a result of the sexual harassment cases, Amazon is now reviewing their current deal.

Another powerful Hollywood executive is facing a detailed allegation of sexual harassment.

Craig Berman, a spokesman for Amazon, didn't respond to repeated requests for comment.
