Nubia Z17 miniS smartphone with four cameras launched in China

It's the company's flagship phone, and would compete with Huawei's upcoming smartphone, the Mate 10, and Xiaomi's Mi Mix 2, which was recently launched in India.

Nubia says that the Z17S is made of 7 series aviation grade aluminum alloy frame and features a 3D glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The company has priced the smartphone at 1999 yuan and it will come in Black Gold and Deep Blue colour options.

The Nubia Z17 unsurprisingly stayed exclusive to China all these months, flying heavily under the radar of the Western tech media and mobile consumers in Europe or the US. It will go on sale starting October 19 in China. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor clubbed with up to 6 gigs of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. A 16MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens is also included. The Nubia Z17S comes in two variants - 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage priced at 2999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 29,610 and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage priced at 3999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 39,510.

The flagship Nubia Z17S comes with a 5.73-inch LTPS TFT all-screen display with a resolution of 1080x2040 pixels. Connectivity features onboard include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, NFC, and Global Positioning System. On the camera front, the Nubia Z17S comes with a 12-megapixel + 23-megapixel camera combo on the rear which is capable of 2x optical zoom, alongside two 5-megapixel cameras on the front. But its 3,200mAh battery is actually larger than the 3,100mAh power pack of the regular Z17S, and you get 16 + 5MP selfie cameras, as well as 13 + 13MP rear shooters.

On the front, there is a dual 5-megapixel camera setup with an 80-degrees wide angle lens and an aperture of f/2.2. It runs on Nubia UI 5.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and comes with the company's custom user interface: Nubia UI 5.1.

The smartphone flaunts a metal unibody design and incorporates a fingerprint sensor.

Its connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and USB Type-C. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.
