The company added that the third generation was launched in May 2017 and was able to achieve the feat in a matter of just five and half months. The new Dzire has managed to pull off a notable response from the Indian auto buying junta despite the other cars in its sub 4-metre sedan segment showcasing very lack lustre sales figures.
As per official SIAM data for production and sales numbers for the passenger vehicles, MSIL's regular compact auto sales (Ritz, Swift, Estilo, Celerio, DZIRE, Baleno, IGNIS, DZIRE TOUR) grew by 51% YoY to 83,374 units for August 2017.
Expressing gratitude to customers for making Dzire the most successful entry sedan, Mr. R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) at Maruti Suzuki India said: "Indeed, the Dzire has brought an unprecedented disruption in the automobile market. Committed to redefine the market, brand Dzire has not only expanded our share in the entry sedan segment but also expanded the industry size".
Some of the features available on the new Dzire include a SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror-link connectivity, automatic climate control with rear AC vent, parking sensors with rear view camera, ABS with EBD and airbags among others. The Dzire is also now built on the Baleno platform which makes it a lot more spacious on the inside, which was always a complaint with the older cars. Maruti Suzuki stated that it conducted a study on the needs and requirements of its customers, and introduced new features in the app. Both engines are available in four trim levels each.
The sedan's diesel variant delivers a fuel economy of 28.4 km per litre, while petrol fuel efficiency is 22 km per litre. The sedan also won the recently held prestigious Good Design Awards 2017, hosted by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion in Japan.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced enhancements for its service app Maruti Care. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 123498257.
