Since August, Indian OMCs have hiked prices once a month, pushing ATF prices up by a cumulative 12.8 per cent: from Rs 47,013 at the end of July to Rs 53,045 now.
Subsidised LPG rates were raised last by Rs 7 per LPG cylinder on September 1, as part of the decision to increase prices every month so as to eliminate subsidies. The hike is nearly of Rs 3,025.
The constant hike in LPG rates is in line with government's target of eliminating subsidy on the cylinders by March 2018.
A subsidised 14.2-kg LPG cylinder will from today cost Rs 488.68 in Delhi as against Rs 487.18 previously, International Olympic Committee said. The May 30 order of Oil Ministry instructed the retailers to increase the rate by an average of Rs 4 per month.
On Sunday, OMCs hiked jet fuel price by a steep 6 per cent on firming worldwide rates, the third straight increase in rates since August.
There are as many as 18.11 crore customers of subsidised LPG in the country.
