Elderly man dies after being tied up in home invasion

Cops patrolling the station in Bedford Stuyvesant broke up the fight and took Williams into custody charging him with assault

A home invasion in Brooklyn turned deadly on Wednesday - with a 91-year-old man dying in front of his 100-year-old wife after being hog-tied by four goons, cops said.

Suspect Rex Williams, 42, of Brooklyn, was in the Bedford-Nostrand Ave. station along the G line at about 9 p.m. Tuesday when he got into a dispute with a 47-year-old man he knows, cops said.

Officers arriving on the scene found the 91-year-old man unconscious.

Then, authorities said, they ransacked the home - but it's not clear if anything was taken from the home.

According to the police department, the wife eventually untied herself and called 911 after the perpetrators tied her and her husband up.

The two victims were taken to Interfaith Medical Center, where the husband was pronounced dead. "He grew me up in Jamaica", says Karlene Grose.

"Oh my god. It breaks my heart to see my uncle died".

Grose said the Thompsons had been married for decades, and now Ethlin Brumley will be without her partner.

Investigators descended on Decatur Street as they searched for the suspects Wednesday evening.

Anyone with information about the home invasion should call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. Police are canvassing the neighborhood looking for surveillance video.
