Three Halifax County natives have lost their lives to domestic violence since December, including Tearron Clayborn Medley on Dec. 9, Wendy Perkins on January 18 and Quanta Nashall Chandler on March 10.

The Crime Victims Assistance Center is located in Binghamton and provides free counseling to survivors as well as a 24-hour crisis line and advocacy program.

For the month of October, New Hope is having a photo contest where they are asking your group or company to all dress up in purple for domestic violence awareness, take a group photo and text it to 509-707-3945.
