At least three persons were killed in a gas cylinder blast that shattered a residential building in the city's southern suburb early on Monday, a police official said. Six bodies, including that of two women, have been recovered.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru Development Minister K.J George has a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to injured.
A six year old girl, who parents died in the building collapse will be adopted the state government, the Minister said.
Gunesh had rented the building to four families, he added.
According to the Newspaper, Sharavana (30) and his eight-month-pregnant wife, Ashwini (21), both of whom living in the ground floor, were found dead. Kalavathi and Ravichandran were in the first floor.
The family members of the deceased said that there were cracks in the building and the owner Gunesh did not bother to fix it when they repeatedly complained about it.
Rescue personnel pulled out three people from under the debris and rushed them to nearby hospitals.
Three fire personnel Suresh, Somashekar and Subash were also injured during the rescue operation as a portion of the wall collapsed on them.
