The University of Louisville Athletic Association met in an executive session Monday morning to discuss the contracts of acting basketball coach David Padgett and acting athletic director Vince Tyra.
Through attorney Steve Pence, Pitino has denied involvement and promised to fight his termination, which would include no severance pay.

The association, which oversees Louisville's sports programs and is composed of trustees, faculty, students and administrators, voted to oust the longtime Cardinals coach following a board meeting Monday.
"The right thing to do is to bring the coach back".
Pitino had been on administrative leave since an FBI investigation alleged coveted recruit Brian Bowen or a family member received money from adidas through a third party to play for the Cardinals.
"We presented our case as if coach Pitino was Coach 2", he said. Louisville interim President Gregory Postel previously said Pitino's involvement in two recent scandals show "a pattern" of "inappropriate behavior" and are cause for Pitino to be fired.
David Padgett, a former Louisville player and Pitino assistant was installed as interim coach on September 29. The University's Athletic Association's meeting is still taking place in Louisville.
Pitino has $44 million remaining in salary and bonuses in a contract extension through the 2025-26 season.
Powerful windstorm causes damage, power outages
There are still some small pockets that don't have power today, and Orangeville Hydro is reporting there are no outages in town. Power was restored throughout the night to all but a handful of users who, Alectra said, will be restored Monday morning.
