Amazon anounces 4000 seasonal jobs in Delaware

Amazon to Add 120000 Holiday Workers, Same as Last Year

US shoppers will spend between $678.75 billion and $682 billion on holiday shopping this year, a growth of 3.6 percent to 4 percent over last year, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).

Inc. said Thursday it plans to add 120,000 seasonal employees to help fill holiday orders at its warehouses, almost doubling that segment of its workforce and topping hiring plans at other major retailers.

In Jacksonville, Amazon just opened operations at Bulls Bay Highway, 103rd Street and Pecan Park Road this year. The company will be hiring in 33 states. "We look forward to welcoming back holiday employees who return year-after-year to Amazon and welcome new faces to the team, many of whom will continue on with regular, full-time roles with the company after the holidays".

Earlier this fall Walmart, the nation's largest employer, said it would fill its need for more seasonal help by giving additional hours to its existing part-time workers, rather than bringing on additional employees.

For the second straight year, Target is set to host 1,816 simultaneous, in-store hiring events nationwide "to ensure stores are fully staffed to help guests during the busy holiday shopping season", according to a news release.

While seasonal hires, some of the jobs could become permanent.
