Timo Werner talks up potential transfer

The Telegraph reported last month that Tottenham Hotspur are still keen on a player they have tracked since 2014 while The Sun claimed that Real Madrid have joined Liverpool in the race.

RB Leipzig are "confident" that star striker Timo Werner will be staying. When asked about the Bavarian club, the striker said: "FC Bayern is also a big club, but for me it is not a topic that I am concerned with".

On current form, Timo Werner would be a welcome addition to nearly any club on the continent.

"We play in the Champions League", Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff told Sky Germany, "We offer Timo the chance to make the next step".

"We are completely relaxed".

The future of German football looks to be in good hands with Bundesliga phenomenon Timo Werner - no wonder Spurs and Liverpool are interested.

The 21-year-old German has been in great form since arriving at RB Leipzig for the 2016-17 season; and his form has caught the eye of several teams around Europe, including Liverpool, who are ready to pay in excess of the £22.5 million valuation for Werner.

"I have come very far with Leipzig", the former Stuttgart forward explained.

"That is why I do not think what is ahead in one, two or three years".

"In Spain there are a maximum of three clubs with Barca, Real and Atletico Madrid".

Discussing teammate Naby Keita's move to Liverpool next summer, Werner added: "There's no anger to him".

Liverpool signed AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke, Hull City defender Andy Robertson and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer transfer window.
