Thatgamecompany releases trailer for new game 'Sky'

Straight from today's Apple Special Event comes a reveal from thatgamecompany (the creators of the award-winning Journey) that their next video game is on the way and is titled Sky.

Sky is described as a game where players will "hold hands with your loved ones as you fly together through a desolate sky kingdom, where generosity and compassion is key to lighting your path".

One of the unusual design decisions when the fourth generation Apple TV was revealed two years ago was its requirement that any games running on it be entirely playable with the touch-enabled Siri Remote.

Update (19:30 BST): thatgamecompany has posted a Tweet with slightly different language to what was used on stage: "Sky is a multi-platform game about giving, first coming to iPhone, iPad and Apple TV", it said. Back then, we only knew of their in-progress project as something vague, mysterious, and blue. Players will fly above the clouds in social groups, travelling to "Dark Temples" and bringing light to these risky corners of its world in order to summon magical creatures.

Thatgamecompany, the dev team behind the critically acclaimed Journey, is developing its new title, Sky, exclusively for Apple platforms. As of yet, the game remains an Apple exclusive. You and your fellow players are "children of the light", charged with "bringing light to where it's needed most".
