Thad Cochran: 'I'm not hospitalized' following urological issue

Trump Is Taking Over Republican Party, Making Realignment More Likely

"With one Yes vote in hospital & very positive signs from Alaska and two others (McCain is out), we have the HCare Vote, but not for Friday!" "I'm not hospitalized, but am recuperating at home in MS and look forward to returning to work soon", Cochran tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

A Republican senator tweeted Wednesday that he is not in the hospital, after President Donald Trump repeatedly cited his supposed hospitalization as a reason Republicans did not have enough votes to pass healthcare legislation in the Senate.

Trump himself has not ID'd the hospitalized senator; his follow-up tweet protested the Senate filibuster rule.

As for the hospitalization, Trump appears to be referring to Thad Cochran from MS, who is in his home state recovering from a urological issue but not hospitalized.

Cochran, however, would like everyone to know that while he's actually not in the hospital, he is indeed in MS recovering from an illness.

It was not immediately clear whether any senators are now in the hospital - though reporters later discovered that Sen. This is critical, since past health care efforts to overhaul health care have failed even with 52 Republicans. But the problem is we can't have them by Friday because ... reconciliation ends on Friday, so we'll have to do it in January or February. "He can't vote because he's in the hospital", Trump told reporters Wednesday on the White House lawn. But I feel we have the votes.

"I just wanted to say, though, on health care, we have the votes for health care".

Congressional leaders said on Tuesday they were moving on to tax reform legislation.

Three GOP senators - Susan Collins, John McCain, and Rand Paul - publicly announced they would oppose the Graham-Cassidy bill. "Get rid of Filibuster Rule!"
