Texans place CJ Fiedorowicz on IR with concussion

Bill O'Brien

The Texans now have 5 players out with concussions, including all active tight ends: C.J. Fiedorowicz, Ryan Griffin, Stephen Anderson, Bruce Ellington, and Brian Cushing. He was one of five Texans players who suffered concussions against the Jaguars, leaving the team's roster thin heading into Thursday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. They haven't talked to me at all yet, just sitting around waiting. Following Week 1's game, all three of Houston's tight ends - Fiedorowicz, Ryan Griffin and Stephen Anderson - were in the concussion protocol. This alone makes it quite hard to proceed through given that there is just one practice scheduled for this week before Thursday's game. Strong is expected to return for Week 2 while Fuller is still suspended.

I would expect Houston to sign tight end Evan Baylis from their practice squad in order for them to have a tight end that can actually play in week two since everyone else has a concussion. He totaled four catches for 32 yards in three exhibition games after being an undrafted free agent.
