Mets 2018 schedule: Season opens vs. Cardinals at Citi Field

Philadelphia will open the season in Atlanta against the Braves on March 29.

The Cardinals begin with a six-game road trip to NY and Milwaukee, then return home Thursday, April 5, against the Diamondbacks as part of a six-game homestand with Arizona and Milwaukee. A few days later, the Cardinals will welcome another rival, this time from the American league, to Busch.

Here's what you need to know about the Mets schedule. There will also be two home-and-home series (two games at each stadium) with the Orioles and Blue Jays.

-Marquee June games: The Mets will play three high-profile teams during weekend series at Citi Field in June.

NY will have two home and road games against Baltimore and Toronto.

The Subway Series - six games rather than the usual four - against the Yankees will run June 8-10 at Citi Field. The Mets will host the Yankees from June 8-10, then make the short trip to Yankee Stadium on July 20-22.

The season series against the Cardinals will end early. St. Louis will open the home portion of their 2018 campaign on Thursday, April 5 against the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a six-game home stand with Arizona and Milwaukee. Beginning on April 19, the Mets will travel to Atlanta, St. Louis and San Diego. The Nationals will have all of their visits from the National League West teams completed by June 10, and an entire homestand in September (Aug. 31-Sept.9) featuring exclusively the National League Central (Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs). Opponents include Tampa Bay, the Phillies and Washington Nationals. The final day of the regular season will be Sunday, September 30.
