Marcelo agrees to Real Madrid contract extension

The 29-year-old has been a key part of the Real side that have won back-to-back Champions League titles and his new deal signs him up until June 2022.

REAL MADRID star Marcelo has signed a new contract at the La Liga giants to stay at the club until at least 2022.

Marcelo has turned out for Real on 414 occasions over the past decade, and has scooped up 17 titles during that time including four La Liga triumphs and three Champions League trophies.

"Tomorrow, Thursday, at 2pm, Marcelo will appear before the media in the press room of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium".

The Brazil worldwide can boast three Champions League titles to his name, along with four La Liga crowns.

A Brazil global, he has made 406 appearances for Madrid, scoring 28 goals.

Marcelo, however, will miss his club's next two league games against Real Sociedad and Real Betis following his red card against Levante last Saturday.

Marcelo joined Real back in 2007 from Fluminese and was immediately hailed as the long-term successor to Roberto Carlos' left-back berth.
