The DMK-led opposition leader on Sunday met with Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao demanding immediate convening of the Assembly and to direct the Chief Minister to prove his majority.

Chennai: A few hours before meeting Tamil Nadu governor C Vidyasagar Rao, DMK working president M K Stalin on Sunday said his party will form a government in the state which can not be shaken for the next 25 years.
Stalin says if floor test is not called within a week, they may seek legal recourse. He should convene the Assembly. This would be the last time the DMK would approach the Governor on this issue. He has promised to take action. "If required, we will move the no-confidence motion as well", he told reports here.
Congress and IUML representatives allied with the DMK were also a part of the delegation that met the Governor.
"With the DMK and its allies having a strength 98 MLAs in the Assembly and the ruling party's 21 dissenting legislators, the AIADMK government, led by K Palaniswami, has lost its majority in the House", PTI quotes Stalin as saying at a public meeting here on Saturday night. Those who are opposing including us and TTV Dhinakaran MLAs are 119.
The representation given by the DMK points out SC order on SR Bommai case, "In all cases where the support of the ministry is claimed to have been lost support, the proper course for testing the strength of the minister is holding the test on the floor of the house". Recalling the meeting, Stalin said that the opposition has already demanded a floor test for the government.
Meanwhile, the AIADMK's General Council is expected to meet on September 12, when Palaniswami is expected to take steps to oust Dhinakaran and his aunt VK Sasikala, General Secretary of the party.
