Goa To Ban Consuming Liquor In Public Places By October End

With a slogan "Start from Self" to achieve the goal of garbage free Goa by 2020, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday pledged to devote hundred hours for cleanliness every year. "We need to come out with the notification banning drinking of liquor in public places".

In a unique exercise across 400 schools, the Government has encouraged students to bring plastic and non-biodegradable waste from their household to the schools, from where it is being collected by Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) for treatment. "The notification regarding the ban will issue by the end of the next month October, which will revise the existing law".

In the latest ban on drinking in public areas, the state has made a decision to impose fines or cancel the license of the liquor shops that allow people to drink near its compound, added the chief minister.

Goa government, earlier this month, also said that they may forbid tourists from entering into the sea after sunset, owing to the rising number of drowning cases in the state. So, consuming of the alcohol in the public places bans from the next month in Goa.

Goa state police, this year, began a crackdown on people who were found drinking in public place. Suppose if it is true, there is no permission to the swimming in the beaches at the post-sunset time. Let us see how the public will take it as.
