Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Announced for the Nintendo Switch

Is Nintendo cannibalizing its potential

Nintendo's latest Direct broadcast was full of updates on previously talked about games but surprisingly it was announced that DOOM and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will both be coming to Nintendo Switch.

Optimism for the Nintendo Switch and third-party support came early this year when Shinya Takahashi, Director and Managing Executive Officer at Nintendo, stated that the Switch would be easier to make games for than previous hardware.

DOOM is finally arriving on Nintendo Switch this year's holidays and it's a breath of fresh air for the FPS genre for the console. The Switch has been the best selling console for several months now.

The youtuber Cycu1 released a video showing a side to side comparison on the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM and Playstation 4. The fact that you can play DOOM on a handheld console would require even greater changes than the ones we see on the video so we are safe to say that Nintendo Switch will handle its new title just fine. Bethesda and Nintendo were so confident that they showed a short glimpse of how exactly DOOM is going to look on Nintendo Switch i.e. actual gameplay.

But the question still remains, how will Doom and Wolfenstein II perform on the Nintendo Switch?

As for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" mods, Bethesda vice president Pete Hines revealed in an interview with US Gamer that they will not be present in the Switch version for the time being.

Whether the game will feature changes to make it easier to play is now unknown although expected.
