#DeadlineDay: Chelsea Signs Zappacosta From Torino

Chelsea submit stunning transfer offer for Torino star in last-minute operation

"This time past year on deadline day when Chelsea signed Marcos Alonso I was more positive on that than a lot of other people".

Davide Zappacosta has completed his £23 million move to Chelsea from Torino, penning a four-year contract. Sky Sports claims that the Blues will pay £23m, plus add-ons, for the 25-year-old.

He jetted into west London for a medical on Thursday and, with all of the formalities completed, Torino confirmed that he has now linked up with the reigning Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old emerged as a late transfer target for Chelsea on deadline day, with the Premier League champions understood to have agreed a £21m deal for the Italy global.

"But he's still someone who is trusted not only by Antonio Conte but also Italy's current manager Gian Piero Ventura". The Torino full-back came in as a surprise interest, after Chelsea missed out on Alex Oxlade Chamberlain despite agreeing on a fee as the latter opted for Liverpool.

Zappacosta has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League champions and the Italy worldwide is delighted to have made the move, explaining playing for Chelsea in the English top flight is a dream come true.

More recently though, Zappacosta has hit his stride, and the player can now boast four appearances with Italy national team, all of them made under Giampiero Ventura. The 28-year-old is expected to cost £22m to the Foxes.

Beyond those scenes, we get a brief glimpse of first-team training from last weekend, as well as a few shots of the youth teams passing around nicely and the Chelsea Ladies gearing up for the start of their season as well.
