49ers GM familiar with Seahawks thanks to Pete Carroll

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said RB Thomas Rawls is set to play in Seattle's home opener

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan met with the media on Friday, which is the last time he will do so until after this Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. It was an injury that forced the team to place him on the physically-unable-to-perform list until August 23.

"Violence", Cable told reporters Wednesday.

Recent trade acquisition from New England, Justin Coleman, also looked good in the nickel last game.

The Seattle Seahawks did not look strong at all in their first action of the 2017 regular season against the Green Bay Packers, but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to Week 2.

"He did have to play through some", he said.

"His attitude about being injured and whether he can play or not is so far off-the-charts courageous and determined, committed". He just won't accept it. So I was convinced that we were going to go out and have a real solid game.

Sherman hasn't missed a game since his rookie season in 2011, a streak he's reminded his coach of this week.

Carroll brought up the injury as a partial explanation for Sherman's surprisingly contentious relations with coaches and media, but instead raised the possibility of a punishment from the National Football League, which later declined to act.

Whether Sherman will miss his first game of his career or not, the Seahawks are confident in their depth at corner. "Yeah. I learned a lot", Carroll said. We went to him in critical situations and they did a nice job of covering him and there is a couple of things we could have done better.

Linebacker Terence Garvin is doubtful with a shoulder injury. Sherman sustained the injury in Seattle's loss to Green Bay in Week 1. "I know he's preparing as if he is and will be available".

The Seahawks remade their running back room again this offseason with the additions of former Packer Eddie Lacy and rookie Chris Carson, joining C.J. Prosise and Thomas Rawls. Carroll has now been trying for three years to fix the Seahawks issues up front to get them back to a Super Bowl.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Seahawks DT Nazair Jones. Officials later said Lane threw a punch, but it was not visible on any TV replay. I think he was unfortunate in the back of the end zone, should have been our ball, first down on the 1-yard line. The loss of six points as well as a starting cornerback was a huge setback in a close game.

"One thing that I probably learned from him is just that these season's are grinds", Lynch answered. "I didn't get a chance to talk to him after practice but that's something I'll do this afternoon and I'm hoping for the best come Sunday". "There's always been people that heal better than others, and we'll see how this works out, but you couldn't ask for a guy's attitude to be more on point".
