Milla Jovovich Set To Play Blood Queen In 'Hellboy' Reboot

Milla Jovovich is in final talks to join the Marshall-directed reboot of Hellboy, sources said.

The film is anticipated to begin shooting in September in the United Kingdom and Bulgaria. Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson is on board to produce, and Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Mignola have penned the script for the film.

Jovovich is an industry veteran, best known for her roles in the cult classic film The Fifth Element and the Resident Evil franchise. Not only did the film already cast their titular character of Hellboy, going with David Harbour from Stranger Things, but they have also been quick to add to the cast.

Milla Jovovich to play the Blood Queen in "Hellboy" reboot.

Although it might not have Guillermo Del Toro's unique visual flair or Ron Perlman's presence, the reboot for Hellboy looks like it's shaping up pretty nicely. Now this is kind of interesting because in the Hellboy comics there is a villain known as the Queen of Blood.

IGN can confirm Jovovich, who portrayed protagonist Alice in all six Resident Evil movies, will star as the Blood Queen. She played a significant role in Hellboy comic stories "The Wild Hunt" and 'The Storm and The Fury'. The film does not yet have a release date.
