Hart wanted permanent move away from Manchester City

Joe Hart speaks during an England press conference on the eve of their international friendly match against Spain at Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre

Hart and West Ham will open the season with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday.

He said: "My induction was to have a fight with Andy!"

The manager said: 'Michail was injured against Swansea in April and the plan was for him to miss a couple of games because he had an operation, it was not just an injury but a big one. "I come here with high demands on my team-mates because I demand a lot of myself".

"Ideally I wanted to be signing a permanent deal somewhere so I could set my life up and have a direction".

"I'm trying to make a point to Slaven Bilic, he's my coach", said Hart.

"There wasn't an bad lot of movement goalkeeper-wise this summer so I'm very grateful to get this opportunity".

"But that wasn't meant to be and West Ham have been absolutely fantastic towards me, I can't be any more grateful for the opportunity they have given me. There's no point me taking it too personally because it's not all about me".

West Ham certainly have a great history with their England goalkeepers with David James and Rob Green having played for the national team, while Phil Parkes appeared for England before joing the Hammers, and it was one of them who helped persuade Hart to make the move. "But the chairman wants him to stay, I want him to stay, everybody wants him to stay".

And chances are it will be the sort of game that will give him the chance to prove Guardiola wrong and book his place on England's World Cup plane to Russian Federation next summer. Manchester United, Southampton, Cheltenham Town (Carabao Cup) and Newcastle United will see the first team travelling from one end of the country to the other as they play football away from home, but the side has a couple of weeks reprieve as we do have an global break as well as our first Home game against Huddersfield Town, but we're on the road again as we travel to the Midlands for a League clash against West Brom.

"They're my coaches, the people whose opinions I care about".

Hart's arrival may well have put Adrian's nose out of joint, but how does he think he has settled in?

"I can not be any more grateful for the opportunity they have given me".

"If we pull together we have a good work ethic, I think that anything is possible".
