Dileep's bail plea pushed to Friday

The Kerala actress assault case seems to be undergoing yet another twist, with alleged mastermind Dileep - who is now in prison - claiming that his first wife Manju Warrier is trying to frame him. The DGP added that since this case is in the court's consideration, he can't reveal more about it.

Dileep was arrested on July 10, following hours of questioning.

In the new petition, besides alleging a "large-scale conspiracy" by a small but powerful section of the film industry against him, he has claimed that he had no connection with the main accused Pulsar Suni.

It may be recalled that in his bail plea, Dileep said that he had informed DGP Loknath Behera about the threatening phone call made by Suni to Dileep from jail.

He was talking to mathrubhumi.com after visiting Dileep in jail.

Dileep, who has claimed that he was not part of any of the criminal activities has accused his ex-wife Manju Warrier of framing him into the case. He was arrested barely months before she turned 18 and he has named his daughter Meenakshi in the plea as well.

The prime accused in the case - a history-sheeter named Pulsar Suni - has implicated him in the case, telling investigators it was the actor-filmmaker at whose insistence he molested the actress in her own auto and took objectionable photos of her during the act so she could be blackmailed.

The High Court will decide on the bail plea on Aug 18.

He has also cited that after Warrier and him separated, their daughter Meenakshi had chosen to stay with him which points out to his family oriented nature. Just after, the news of the assault came to the limelight, Dileep's name was associated with the case. They said they had also investigated in detail about the factors that caused the delay in filing complaint.
