The PCB has said it will file a case against the BCCI in the International Cricket Council (ICC) dispute resolution committee for non-fulfillment of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to play bilateral series during 2015-2023.
Diplomatic tensions between the two nations have prevented the neighbours from playing a bilateral series since 2007, apart from Pakistan's tour to India in 2012-2013 when they played a short limited-overs series.
PCB has found itself in a fix with the World XI's visit earlier scheduled for late September, but due to the by-elections in NA-120 on September 17 due to the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, the dates had to be moved to earlier September. "We hope to bring a World XI for a three-match Twenty20 series and the next two to three months will bring more good news".
"We have invited Sri Lanka to play a few matches (in Pakistan) after their series with us and I will try to get a reply on that invitation".
The Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA) is waiting for a response from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on details of proposed security arrangements for the World XI tour next month.
PCB further added: "The series has been brought forward to mid-September because the Punjab government wants it to be held before the NA-120 election on September 17. It can't be held after September 17 because there is no time to both hold the series and also give national coach Mickey Arthur time for training the team before the series starts with Sri Lanka on September 24", the release said.
