23-year-old reportedly in talks with Tottenham and Chelsea

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata says he still needs to adapt to the Premier League

Today Chelsea have made a £25 million bid for the Everton forward who is out at least until December after pulling his groin, having minor surgery, then injuring his hamstring, and having more surgery to fix that, all without playing a single competitive game for the Toffees this season.

Chelsea have submitted a £25 million offer for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to reports.

The Blues are said to have held talks with Everton club representatives about a move for the 23-year-old following their 2-0 win over the Toffees on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Toffees playmaker has rejected a new deal at Goodison Park, with Ronald Koeman desperate to cash in on the England global.

It was gearing-up for a fierce battle between the London rivals, however, the Evening Standard are reporting today that Tottenham are now considering postponing their interest until January.

Barkley has not featured for Everton this season due to a hamstring injury which will keep him out for a couple more months.

Everton have been forced to lower their £50m asking price for the England global, who is now sidelined with a hamstring injury and is in the final year of his contract.

Chelsea are still waiting to find out whether or not their £35m bid has been accepted or rejected by Arsenal.

Chelsea are also looking to complete the signings of Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City and Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente before the end of the window.
