Federer into Wimbledon fourth round for 15th time

Germany's Mischa Zverev slips over as he plays Switzerland's Roger Federer during their Men's Singles Match on day six at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London Saturday

Angelique Kerber, the runner-up to Williams previous year, could lose the top spot to either Simona Halep or even Karolina Pliskova despite the Czech having been knocked out in the second round. Instead, Karolina Pliskova will be No. 1 player.

Hewitt won Wimbledon in 2002, before Federer won the first of his seven titles, interspersed with three wins by Novak Djokovic and two each from Rafael Nadal and Murray. No. 14 Garbine Muguruza, No. 2 Simona Halep vs. Victoria Azarenka, No. 10 Venus Williams vs.

"I just didn't see any logic in not playing us on the Centre Court".

Fourth-seeded Elina Svitolina, sixth-seeded Johanna Konta, 21st-seeded Caroline Garcia and 27th-seeded Ana Konjuh also reached the fourth round.

Azarenka also lost the first set in her opening match, but that was only her third match since her return. A few unforced errors later, though, and Williams broke again for a 6-5 lead before serving out the match. The rain came and went into the afternoon, forcing the delay of the first women's quarterfinal match on No. 1 Court.

The Serb appears invigorated, though, after hiring a new coaching team, which includes eight-time major victor Andre Agassi and former Wimbledon semi-finalist Mario Ančić. Muller beat Nadal at the All England Club in 2005, but the Spaniard got one back in 2011. One of those losses, however, was in the Wimbledon semifinals in 2010. Zverev won the biggest title of his career at the Rome Masters earlier this year, where he beat Novak Djokovic comprehensively in that final, but he is yet to make a quarter-final at Grand Slam level.

However, just like the Swiss, 13th seeded Dimitrov has yet to drop a set at this year's Wimbledon and was a semi-finalist in 2014.

Roger Federer on Monday extended his dominance against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, beating him 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in a fourth round encounter to move into his 15th Wimbledon quarter-final. He used to trade exchanges with his forehand from the back of the court, but now he has adapted and now knows how and when to advance to the forecourt on this particular surface. Djokovic appeared to grimace in pain a couple of times as his shoulder was being checked.

The two-time Wimbledon victor is bidding to reach the last-eight at the Slams for a 32nd time against a player who has gone that far just once - at the 2008 US Open.

Old stagers Agnieszka Radwanska, the 2012 runner-up, tackles former French and US Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Murray takes on Frenchman Benoit Paire standing 2-0 in the series.

The defending champion had made fast starts in all his first three matches but this time he found himself behind after only three games.

It looks set to be a frustrating day at Wimbledon.

"I expect that every time I have played him he has become better".

Monfils was eliminated at the hands of Adrian Mannarino - Djokovic's next opponent - but went out in style by pulling off a stunning victor in the second set, spinning on the spot before delivering a shot that had his compatriot applauding. On Court No. 1, Rybarikova was playing Vandeweghe.
